Hanover College has one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation, according to the Princeton Review’s latest slate of college lists released Tuesday.

The southern Indiana school of about 1,100 students located about 40 miles north of Louisville, Ky, can boast the 19th most beautiful campus, according to the survey of students at 385 of the nation’s top colleges and universities.

To compile the 2020 rankings, Princeton Review’s survey team asked 140,000 students 80 questions about themselves and their school.

Nine Indiana schools made the top 385 colleges. The schools are also categorized in more specific rankings, some good and others not so good.

Princeton Review does not numerically rank the top 385 schools, but the smaller lists are numbered.

Butler University students surveyed didn’t care much for the cafeterias (ranked No. 19 on “Is It Food?”). Butler also ranked poorly in the way students of different races and backgrounds mingle on campus (No. 17 on “Little Race/Class Interaction”).

Students at Earlham College in Richmond like the instruction they get (No. 15 on “Best Classroom Experience”) but dislike the people who run the institution (No. 4 on “Administrators Get Low Marks”).

The athletic facilities at Purdue University in West Lafayette ranked 5th in the country. Indiana University ranked No. 42 on the list of Top 50 Game Design: Undergrad programs.

Indiana schools not on the 2020 list include Ball State University, Indiana State University, Southern Indiana University and University of Evansville.

Princeton Review said it chose the top 385 “primarily based on our high opinion of their academics.” The list includes a wide representation of public and private schools from all parts of the country and one in Canada.
