OTR & WYNNE – Stay

DJ and producer OTR just released his emotionally-driven track ‘Stay‘, under Astralwerks. The heart-felt song features incredibly intoxicating vocals from WYNNE, and tells the story of a relationship at a turning point.

‘Stay’ has a gentle nostalgic sound, provoking a soul-touching feeling within. The vocals are beautifully composed, and are brought together by intricate, soft rhythms. When discussing ‘Stay’, OTR says,

“I FIRST HEARD THESE VOCALS AFTER WYNNE DM’D ME ON INSTAGRAM ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SAME DAY, MY FRIEND PASSED AWAY FROM A CAR ACCIDENT AND I WASN’T IN ANY STATE TO WRITE. WHEN I GOT HOME FROM HIS FUNERAL, I WROTE THE MUSIC FOR THE SONG, WHICH FELT LIKE MY FINAL GOODBYE TO HIM.”

OTR’s sound is influenced by artists such as Odesza, Petit Biscuit and Porter Robinson. Ultimately, his natural talent combined with his mathematical mind create something incredibly special. WYNNE’s vocals bring the entire track together, proving that the two artists naturally mesh.

OTR

OTR is a 26 year old producer, who discovered his passion for music by messing around on an old piano in his college dorm in 2012. As an aerospace engineer, the routine of classes and studying could be overbearing at times. But, the music helped with the stress. In 2014 OTR embarked on an internship in Japan. Not only was he completely on his own, but he was challenged with an extreme language barrier. He eventually bought a keyboard, and spent any and all free time traveling to other cities via train and making his own music.

The name OTR comes from “Over-the-Rhine“, which is the nickname of the neighborhood he moved to when he returned to the United States. This outskirt neighborhood grew from a neglected area to one with a refreshed, new beginning. OTR felt this growth and change was comparable to his own journey of his music “from hobby to career goal”. And thus, the name of his project was born.

OTR’s single ‘Heart’ feat. Shallou has over 2 million streams in under two months. The track is also #1 on the Sirus XM Chill Chart.

WYNNE

Songwriter, producer and instrumentalist WYNNE (Rory Andrew) made his artist debut in 2017. He is best known in the electronic music realm for being a feature on Odesza‘s ‘Line Of Sight‘. In addition to his vocals on the Grammy-nominated track, he is also one of the co-writers. His debut single ‘Distraction’ was also released in 2017. WYNNE has produced songs for artists such as Two Door Cinema Club and Parson James, as well as composed an original piece for Guillermo Del Toro’s film, “The Shape of Water”.
