The Memphis Grizzlies are inviting Grizz Nation to celebrate the start of the 2019-20 NBA season at several fan-friendly Grizzlies-themed events throughout the Mid-South, including the fan-favorite Open Practice on Saturday, Oct. 5 and multiple festivities in Memphis and surrounding areas.

The Grizzlies will tip-off events with the Memphis Redbirds at their annual Grizzlies Night at AutoZone Park on Thursday, August 22. The Redbirds will be sporting a limited edition ‘teal’ throwback jersey as a part of the Grizzlies’ 25th Season of the Franchise celebration. In addition, the jerseys will be auctioned off following the game. Fans can also expect a special appearance by the Grizzlies’ 2019 second overall draft pick Ja Morant and various Grizzlies Entertainment squads.

The team’s Regional Caravan Tour will make its first of eight stops in Murray, Kentucky where Morant will return to Murray State on Friday, August 23. Morant will visit his former campus and make several surprise appearances throughout the day.

Also as part of the Grizzlies regional caravan, the team is offering free Youth Basketball Clinics presented by Nike throughout the region where young athletes will have the chance to receive training from the Grizzlies Youth Basketball staff comprised of current and former college players and coaches, referees and other professionals. Boys and girls interested in attending a Youth Basketball Clinic are encouraged to pre-register at grizzlies.com/youthbasketball.

Returning this year as a celebration of the 25th Season of the Franchise, the Grizzlies will be bringing back a fan-favorite Grizzlies Block Parties in various community parks throughout Memphis. Festivities will continue throughout the fall with multiple Grizz Nights at Levitt Shell including a special Hustle Night featuring an appearance by new Hustle Head Coach Jason March on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. The Grizzlies will also have giveaways, live music and more throughout September at the Germantown (Sept. 7 & 8) Cooper Young (Sept. 14) and Communities Forward (Sept. 21) festivals.
