This is an UNPAID internship for students wanting to gain experience in business or socially relevant cause, working with any major. The internship is for the semester, ending before final exams. It offers flexible schedule, to meet your needs and allows for your time needs during exams or other class requirements.  Can submit paperwork so that you can earn credits. Minimum of 5 hours per week required, up to 20 hours. Work is online, at your location. Can be done late at night, in between classes or whenever your schedule allows at exact times during the week. Any major can make use of these skills.

Goal: Internship aims to provide students with real-world experience in creating a web resource that helps people while gaining experience in their field of interest.

Internship descriptions:

Web management – learn management of web-resource. Add information, suggest ideas, follow a guided plan of action. Depending on your level of interest, you can manage a department or be part of the creative team, adding to parts of a section. Interns will gain a better understanding of management side of website. Compliments students knowledge of social media platforms. Recommended for anyone that wants to work in today’s world of business or wants to learn how to make a website. This internship is generalized to provide individuals initial experience in web management and specialized, for individuals who have experience. You’ll learn time management skills and how to work remotely with interactions of others.

Social Consciousness – evaluate, research, define areas that other students need. Work with departments to create resource that solves that problem.

  • Free college – How can college costs be decreased? Where is free college offered?
  • Food insufficiency (some students don’t have money to eat – Learn why? Should they have taken larger loan? Did they qualify for loan but not know what type of budget they would need? Did they mismanage money? Other reasons?)  Add to resources of information.
  • Textbook Exchange – is there one on your campus? Create one, take part in national exchange, be part of creating resource
  • Your ideas, where you know there is a need, we’ll help you create the resource to solve the problem.
  • Recommended for anyone looking for an internship that helps people or a platform that helps them work on a problem they would like to solve.

Social Media management
Interns make use of their knowledge and learn about other tools to use on social media. You’ll learn to manage social media accounts, place posts, marketing and advertising. This experience can help you develop ideas on how to become an influencer.

Magazine/News

  • Writers – Get your writing published. Be assigned topics or choose your own. Intern can learn what others write that gets published, evaluate topics and improve on information. Also gives authors a platform to submit their work to other resources. Good for building a portfolio. Teaches a variety of writing styles, useful on or offline.
  • Editors  – Interns can manage a department’s non-political topics, maintain new information, and learn to publicize their departments.

Marketing / Advertising
The Marketing and Advertising internship is designed for individuals interested in coordinating, and evaluating marketing and advertising methods. The intern will learn about different tools and methods, testing what does and does not generate response, create campaigns and learn scheduling.  Daily supervision, interaction provided to guide you

Qualifications – Applicants should have desire to learn. Each task builds upon the interns knowledge base and teaches skills that give you experience and confidence.

Internships are not replacing work that would be done by an employee. The internship does not lead to future employment with 37oakfield. It does lead to experience which can be added to resumes, CV’s, grad school applications, portfolios and future job applications. Letters of recommendation can be written at end of semester.
