CAMDEN, NJ — Students who are hoping to attend Camden County College tuition-free this fall still have close to a month to complete applications.

The deadline is Sept. 15 for students enrolled in any of the 19 county colleges approved to participate in the Community College Innovation Challenge grant pilot program to file for Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG) awards.

This does not require submitting a separate application from the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application for New Jersey Dreamers. Students are already being considered for the awards if they completed these forms.

Launched last spring with the 13 colleges, the CCOG program was revised this year in the state budget, approved in June, to cover all New Jersey county colleges. It initially had been aimed at students with an adjusted gross income of $45,000 or less, but now extends to a cap of $65,000.

Students with adjusted gross incomes under that new threshold and who are enrolled for at least six credits at Camden County College for fall 2019 will be eligible to receive last-dollar CCOG awards. This means the grants will cover remaining costs of tuition after all other federal or state financial aid awards have been applied. Students will be required to maintain satisfactory academic progress to remain eligible.

Those who have not yet filed for financial aid for the upcoming academic year can do so by going to the FAFSA website or the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application for New Jersey Dreamers.

For more details on student eligibility and program rules, check the Policy and Procedures page for the CCOG program.

Students who are enrolled in one of the county colleges should visit the New Jersey Financial Aid Management System (NJFAMS) to access their student account and review their to do list.
