Bakersfield College receives grant for Renegade Food Pantry

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield College announced that it received a $20,000 grant to help alleviate food insecurity among students.

The grant provides $2,000 a month for 10 months to add to the

Renegade Pantry’s

inventory with food and drinks.

“The Pantry is a student assistance program that exists to help maintain the health and welfare of Bakersfield College students through organized college, community sponsorship, and donations of nonperishable food, clothing and hygiene items. The Renegade Pantry focuses on alleviating food insecurity, hunger, and poverty among current Bakersfield College students to help them stay focused on their academics and career pathways.”
